A Canadian TV host is being met with outrage after bragging about killing a cougar. The Edge host Steve Ecklund shot the cougar in Northern Alberta and posted photos of it on his Facebook page earlier this month. Later, he posted photos of cooking the cougar’s meat. Now, people are calling Ecklund out on social media as he defends his decision. “What an unreal ending to a fun filled season. Northern Alberta lion with BIG CAT ADVENTURES,” said Eckland on December 3rd. Later that day, he showed photos of him stir-frying the meat. After receiving backlash, Ecklund replied on December 4th with, “If you can guess what post has 900 likes, 450 comments, 13 confirmed death threats, 754 swear words and one very happy hunter in it…….I will enter your name into the draw for the new cougar cook book, filled with mouth water recipes for your next mountain lion hunt😂😂” (function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = ‘https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.11’; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’)); If you can guess what post has 900 likes, 450 comments, 13 confirmed death threats, 754 swear words and one very happy… Posted by Steve Ecklund on  Monday, December 4, 2017 Related: Donald Trump’s Sons Under Fire for Photos with Dead Leopard, Elephant and More Since the posts, Ecklund, who is a Cabela’s Ambassador, has been called out by former prime minster Stephen Harper’s wife Laureen Harper and others on Twitter . Some are calling on sports supplier Cabela’s to drop Ecklund as an Ambassador. What a creep. Chasing a cougar with dogs until they are exhausted then shooting a scared, cornered and tired animal. Must be compensating for something, small penis probably. https://t.co/UspnQEdWdL — Laureen Harper (@LaureenHarper) December 21, 2017 via CBCNews
